Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 13th 2003. Our annual conference will be held that date at the Elks Club in Augusta. We're offering a whole new program with a nationally known guest. Dan Miller is an inspirational speaker from Yakima Washington. His presentation "Living, Laughing and Loving Life" is both funny and enlightening. He also has post-polio syndrome, and his experiences in life will inspire us all. Mr. Miller will be with us throughout the day. To find out more about him, check out his website at www.danmillerspeaker.com
Also, medical professionals will offer updated information on current research, safety around the home, and ways to maneuver with less strain on the body.   More information

POLIO AWARENESS WEEK is in the making

We are working with the State Legislature to establish the first week in June as Maine Polio Awareness Week. Reggie Arsenault reports that he anticipates that two legislators will sponsor the bill and hopes to have it presented for hearings and adoption very soon. We will be working with media representatives and various agencies throughout the State to help get our message out to more people about post-polio syndrome. So, keep your eyes and ears open for any publicity items. If you have any ideas about publicity, would like to help, or have stories you would like to share, please contact Reggie directly at 207 364-7003
